SHELLEY BURKE
OWNER
Shelley Burke is the owner of Burke Painting, Inc. After being involved in the company for many years in a variety of roles she now provides the leadership, guidance and accountability needed for the company in order to maintain it’s position as one of the premiere commercial painting companies in Georgia. She is also proud to be a Certified Female owned company.
TOM ROWAN
FINANCE MANAGER
Tom is responsible for the oversight and management of the company’s day to day operations and financial obligations. He is a talented resource and has a rich history in the industry. His analysis of processes and procedures help to insure the company’s productivity and profitability. His financial expertise for the company, like auditing, reporting and budgeting ensure that the company stays in great financial standing. Tom’s gentle nature around the office makes for a very pleasant working environment.
KATHY HERNANDEZ
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Kathy is responsible for our lead development and for overseeing marketing campaigns and outcomes. She has a well-developed understanding of the types of customers our company very successfully works with. She assists our sales and project managers and is in touch with them regarding their jobs regularly. She is an integral part of communicating with our painting team and assisting them with their needs. Kathy plans our trade show events and is an active member of BOMA and IFMA. Kathy is everyone’s little sister and is undeniably everyone’s favorite.
TAD DARDEN
ESTIMATOR
Tad is one of our estimator/project managers. He lives in the heart of Buckhead. He has an affinity for industrial spaces, shopping centers, office spaces and parking decks. He is a very pleasant gentleman to be around. He is prompt, courteous and efficient. His goal is to provide a high level of service to his customers on a daily basis.
MITCH LEAPTROT
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Mitch is one of our Senior estimator/project managers. He is an invaluable asset in managing work in medical facilities and commercial office spaces. His knowledge of industrial spaces requiring special coatings is also critical to the outcomes of those projects. He is responsible, detail oriented, conscientious, and very hands on. Everyone enjoys Mitch because he is such a laid back, gentle and genuine guy.
DOUG KELLEY
WAREHOUSE MANAGER
Doug supervises all activities of the warehouse to ensure efficient, clean, and organized storage and safety. He keeps our warehouse safe by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. He inspects, repairs, and makes ready all equipment for our painters to ensure that they can efficiently start their day with everything they need. He oversees the logistics and accurate records of our large fleet and makes sure routine maintenance and or repairs are handled quickly. Doug plans our monthly safety meetings and makes sure each painter is accurately certified for their role within the company. Doug is usually the brightest part of our day with his happy “hello” and “how are you doing?”
GEORGE BURKE
FOUNDER
George Burke founded Burke Painting in 1980. He created his business on sound business principles and ethics. He taught his employees that their efforts would be worthwhile when the customer was fully satisfied. He spent many years collaborating with major paint product manufacturers regarding product and practical usage in the industry. He was also a mentor for contractors around the country regarding business matters.

THE BURKE PAINTING TEAM
Burke Painting uses the “Foreman” system. Each of our Foreman Painters manages a set crew of 2-3 painters, all of which are full-time employees. Crew members do not change throughout the job. The continuity of this system offers many advantages, for example, the crew is more productive and efficient as a team because they understand each other’s styles and skills. We also have a turnover rate of less than 10% a year with our crew members.
We use the highest quality products for both interior and exterior projects, and we have gained product guarantees from the top three major paint suppliers, including Duron, Sherwin Williams, and Porter Paints.
